Privacy Policy

The Android app does not require account creation or login. The app may store your sleep setup and progress locally on your device, including:

• usual bedtime and usual wake time
• target wake time and sleep duration goal
• shift speed, bedtime reminder setting, alarm sound choice, and wake task choice
• progress and streak state, missed days, and wake confirmation state
• scheduled alarm and reminder state
• saved wake barcode value, if you use the Barcode scan wake task

This local sleep setup and progress data is stored on your device. Shifti does not upload exact bedtime, exact wake time, saved barcode values, or sleep progress to a Shifti backend.

Barcode values are used only to verify that you scanned the correct product during the wake task. Barcode values are not sent to Firebase Analytics.

The website may collect basic analytics and technical data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website usage, such as pages visited, traffic sources, and device information. Hosting, DNS, performance, and security providers may process basic technical logs such as IP address, request time, browser information, and security events.

If you join the waitlist or submit an email signup form, we collect the email address you provide. The submission may also include the page path, referrer, and user agent so we can understand where submissions came from and troubleshoot abuse.

Mautic tracking may be used only if a Mautic tracking script is enabled on the website. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

The Android app uses Firebase Analytics for basic usage analytics. Firebase Analytics may collect basic app usage data, such as app opens, screen views, onboarding completion, schedule started, wake confirmed, wake missed, and wake task selected.

Wake task selected is logged only as a general type, such as hold, math, or barcode. Shifti does not log exact bedtime, exact wake time, barcode value, alarm sound name, or user-entered personal sleep details to Firebase Analytics.

Firebase may collect device and app information needed for analytics, such as device type, app version, approximate location or country, sessions, and engagement.

The Android app may request permissions needed for alarms, reminders, and selected wake tasks:

• Notifications are used to send bedtime reminders and wake alarm notifications.
• Exact alarms are used to schedule wake alarms and reminders at the intended time.
• Full-screen alerts or alarm display are used so the wake alarm screen can appear when the phone is locked.
• Foreground service is used to keep the alarm running until you snooze, complete the wake task, or the alarm safely stops.
• Camera access is used only for barcode scanning when you select Barcode scan as the wake task. The camera is not used for recording photos or videos. Scanned barcode values are used locally to verify the wake task.
• Reboot or startup access is used to reschedule future alarms after the device restarts.

You can disable Shifti notifications from Android settings. You can deny camera permission, but the Barcode scan wake task will not work without it.

Website email subscribers can unsubscribe or contact us to request removal from the waitlist or email list. You can also request access to, correction of, or deletion of waitlist information you provided.
